Text Lookup field shows "error displaying report" instead of value

Question

I have two text lookup fields that are displaying the same error:

However, the same two lookup fields display properly in the form for the child table:

Is anyone familiar with this error and how to resolve? Please let me know what additional information is needed to assist.

I've run into this same bug many times, but in my cases it is always with the report link field and not the lookup field. I can fix it in a report link field with the following process, perhaps in some weird way if you performed these steps on the report link field, it would fix the lookup field?1. Edit the form properties of the report link.2. Whatever is selected for 'Base the display on the report' change to anything else.3. Save, then repeat the same steps and change it back to what you want.------------------------------Mike Tamoush------------------------------

Thanks Mike. Just had the same problem - the proxy field for a relationship replaced by error text - and toggling the report link on the same form fixed it.------------------------------Jeremy Anson------------------------------

Let's start with the obvious in case this is easy.

So those are report link fields. The field properties for a Report Link field simply match up the value in any field on the record you are on with any field's value in any other table in any other app.

Can you have a look at those two fields and see if they are configured. Likely one of them is blank.

OK, I thought that this was a report fink field but it is a simple lookup field.

Can you try making that lookup field over again and see if that fixes the issue. It feels very buggy. Just do another lookup on the same relationship.
