Convert "Report" to "Chart Report"

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, couldn't find any help articles or posts that covered this via search.

I have reports I've built with filters (that take a while to click and set).

Looking for ways to take an existing report, copy the settings, but select another type of report or another type of chart without having to reprogram all of the filters and report settings from scratch each time.

Can I:

  1. Take an existing Report and convert it into a Chart Report?
  2. Take an existing Report and convert it into another type of report?
  3. Take an existing Chart Report and convert it into another type of Chart Report?

Thanks,

Mike

  • My suggestion here is that once you get your perfect and complicated report filters that you consider making an equivalent checkbox formula field to mimic those filters.

Then when you go to make a new report, you can just use that same single filter across several different report types.

This technique also comes in super handy if you ever need a pipeline to run through all the records on a particular report. That way you know the report and the records that the pipeline will walk-through are identical.

      Mark,

I really like the Pipeline reference.   That makes a lot of sense.

  • Mike,

I wish, but no.  I frequently make a report for a client only to discover that I have the right data but the wrong presentation.  You have to build it from scratch to get a different Type.

    Thanks Don!

    So basic...  #FeatureRequest

Also... Charts that display above the report table (so it doesn't have to be one or the other...)
