Changing Field Types

I am trying to change a filed type from "Multi-select Text" to "Text - Multiple Choice" but the change type button does not show.  Is this possible or is there a specific way to do this?

    You will need to make you new field and import the data into it.  You will need to purify the data first so that here is only 1 choice in the multi select fields for each record.
