Combined Text Field up to Grandparent Table

Is there a way to get a combined text of the grandchildren up to the grandparent, without creating a direct relationship between grandparent and grandchild?

I can't use a summary field twice, as it works to bring it up to the parent, but then the next summary up to the grandparent wont work correctly. Unless there is some intermediate tricky step with formulas I can use?

  • Why do you say this?

but then the next summary up to the grandparent wont work correctly

I'm quite sure that you can do a Combined Text Summary of a Combined Text Summary field.

I made an incorrect assumption when I stated that. I assumed the following:

Grandchildren were project Types. Lets say Type A, Type B, Type C, Type D
Parent 1 had Children: Type A, Type B
Parent 2 had Children: Type A, Type C
Combined Text Summary on Parent 1: "Type A; Type B"
Combined Text Summary on Parent 2: "Type A; Type C"

Assumed Combined Text Summary on Grandparent: "Type A Type B; Type A Type C"
Desired Combined Text on Grandparent: "Type A;Type B; Type C"

I figured QB would see the combined text as strings, and return like/unlike strings. However, turns out it is smarter than I gave it credit for and it still looks as all the entries individually, so like you are describing, I can simply use a combined text of a combined text.
