Customize default report by role?

Hi,

I know how to customize the Default Report but the problem is that every role is affected by these changes. How can I assign a different Default Report based on role, as I would do with List All or the Home Page? Is it even possible?

List All is fine when a user is in a table just looking at it but if they click on any summary fields it takes them to the Default Report instead. I want that to look different as well depending on what role they are assigned.
  • There is only 1 default report but as you have discovered, each Role can have a different report for the Table Home Page.

    The default report only really tends to come up for regular users when doing searches or when drilling down into summary reports and charts. For the searches, you can have different search widgets on the dashboard for different results targets.  For the drill down report, you would need to have different Summary reports which are identical except for the drill down target report.

      Yes I think this is what I'm after. When a user drills down into a summary report, that summary is always presented as the Default Report. That's what I want to change based on the user's role.

      Can you explain this quote in a little more detail for me? I don't fully understand it.

      So recently, Quick Base allows you to specify at the bottom of the Summary report the drill down target report - it defaults to yes - what a surprise -  "the default report". 

      But for example you could drill down from a summary report into a chart or another summary report or a particular table report.  Any unfiltered report or chart will work. (The summary drill down will set the filters correctly).

      So if you had three roles make 2 more copies of your Summary report so that you have three summary reports and then create three different unfiltered drill down reports for configure just that part of the three summary reports differently for each Role to use.

      I seem to remember seeing the option before of choosing the drill down target report but I can't seem to find that option anywhere now. I'm looking at the customize screen for one of my summary reports and I don't see anything about choosing what the drill down is. Any ideas?
