Automatons were limited to date fields.
- QuickBaseCoachD7 years agoQrew CaptainCan you explain what you mean by this comment? Automations should be able to update any data entry field type.
- EOMDevelepors7 years agoQrew CaptainThe automation trigger does not allow you to trigger based on a date field.
You can read that in the documentation as well. I have a work around for it but it may time out on you anyway since it needs to lookup to many records which will be longer than the 30 second timeout of an automation.
Hope this helps. - QuickBaseCoachD7 years agoQrew CaptainI tested an automation and it let me select a date field as a trigger. Are you saying that date fields are not offered as trigger field for you?
- EOMDevelepors7 years agoQrew CaptainThat is correct. I tested it again.
Here is a copy of the documentation:
Fields and tablesSome field types are not fully supported in an automation:
- Address fields and their subfields are not currently available in automations.
- File Attachment, iCalendar, Report Link, Time of Day, VCard Fields of these types are not included in the list of fields you can retrieve data from in an automation.
- Date, Date/Time, and Duration fields cannot be used when defining conditions for an automation trigger or when choosing which records to modify or delete in an automation action.
