Default User Field: Current User (and Pipelines)

When using an automation or Pipelines, if a record is automatically created, if a user field default is set to 'current user', will the current user simply be whomever owns the Pipeline? If I want ...

No, the Userid you need to grab is the [Last Modified by] as that is who triggered the Automation.  The current user will always be the current user and that will be the Owner of the Automation.
