Duration Formula Question?

I have a duration formula that produces a result of hours if less than 24 hours and days if greater than 24 hours. How can I get it to be either or but not both? Ideally just hours.

[Response Date/Time]-[Notification Date/Time]

    I�m pretty sure there is a field property on that field where you can choose the unit of measure instead of defaulting to Smart units.
