Dynamic Filters in a calendar report

I have a calendar report on an activities field and I wanted to know if there is a way similar other reports to have dynamic filters on the same page.   I currently have an "ask user" step to filter the report but it would be helpful to have the ability to filter down by additional criteria once the calendar report is populated.
