Qrew LegendDid it help to know that the one value which is allowed to be non-unique in a field as marked unique is a blank. You can have as many blanks as you want.
I suggest you just said that field so it is not required but put up a message on the form when the field is left blank warning the user that they need to come back and fill out the field
