Field Incident and Observation capture

I have 2,800 employees that need to be able to submit observation or basic incident detail back to the safety department for tracking / closure.  Have looked at the APP called ABC Customer Request Tracker as a starting point.  We have the employee profile info (email, phone, name, etc) to compare upon submitting a ticket but what is needed it the ability to also have the field inspector to provide their current GPS location of the incident along with the observation submission.  I have seen on some mobile APP where is asks "My Location" or enter an address.  That would work to capture the Lat/Long along with the other form data to QB.  I just can't seem to figure it out and add to the sample Request Tracker app.

Your help would be appreciated as I'm new to Quick Base but very motivated.  Thank you for any help.

Supporting intel:
- field inspector will probably be using a mobile phone to submit ticket, or laptop.
- after capture, the plan is to display all tickets on a map along with list of issue pending resolution.
  • I don't have a link handy which fully explains the features of the new Quick Base Mobile app, but if you go to he App store for iOS or Google play for Android, you can download a real app.  That will allow the app to use the location of the phone to auto complete an address field.

Assuming that you get that working,  when it comes to a map report the native Quick Base Map is currently limited to 100 map pins at a time.  They also load he pins too slowly in my experience, when you have a lot of pins.

Hence, for several of my clients, I have implemented an add on from Juiced.

  • Thank you for the great information.  I did set an address field from QB and it did show up properly on the mobile app giving me the option to select current location and trap the GPS coordinates.  I will check out the juicedtech.com/qb-maps.  I agree with the slow loading of the native QB map, it is so much faster with Juiced.  I will give that a try.

Either way, your coaching has enlightened my abilities and much appreciated.  I will also
  • If you have a moment, I would like to chat about 2-3 other mapping functions offline.  To much detail perhaps typing it up here.
