Formula or tool to access common field information between two tables.

I cannot figure out how to make relationships or formulae to solve my present dilemma. It feels like there must be an obvious solution. Any ideas are appreciated.

If my table A has a an email address field
And my table B is synced with GMAIL to show me the connected emails with fields of TO, FROM, BODY....

Is there a formula I could use to show me if the FROM field in Table B matched one of the email addresses in Table A, and then if so, link it to that client?

I would be grateful for any matching tips.

I can build relationships, but this just gives me a drop down field so I can select from our hundreds of email addresses. I would like something that would match the fields.

THANKS!
  • You can make a relationship if you like but you really just need a Report Link.

On he left side of the configuration choose the email field on your record.
On the right side navigation to your app and the gmail sync table ands the email field you want to match on, and select it.

Then just put that report link field on your form.
  • Thanks for your help!

If it's ok, I have some questions about your comment. I love report links, and embedding reports, but these directions seem to be eluding my comprehension.

The left side of the configuration of what?

I'm assuming "the right side navigation to your app" will seem more obvious if I can figure out what the the left side of the configuration is.

    Thanks.
  • When you initially create the Report Links field it needs two fields configured on the field  properties.  So I called them left and right.

Filed properties of a report link.  "Left" & "Right"
Match the values in this field "Email" to the values in this field, "Your App" Field: "From"
