Create a table of Products and set up a Child table to hold the Child BOM Master Items and populate with the correct BOM Items for each Product. I cannot tell from your post whether the current drop-down list for the products is a multiple choice filled or taken from a relationship but you will need to have those choices come from the relationship.
Then set up an automation to run that when a new "Product Order" is created to copy the BOM Master Items from the Child BOM Master to become Product Order BOMs. He'll be able to filter the automation so that only the correct children will be copied across where the Product in the Child BOM Master matches the Product selected on the "Product Order".

If you are asking if what can be done with Automations can also be done with Pipelines, then answer in general is yes.
