Hmm I think I am missing something.
I made a field on the Tasks table called Current User as a formula user type. In the formula I put User()
I created a relationship to my team members table. I set the default value to current user. As part of that relationship I looked up the team name. I renamed this relationship to Current User Team Member
I am not sure where I am supposed to be using that Current User field. I also added a lookup from Tasks to the Project table for the Team Name field. This way I have the team name for the Project.
My reports are filtering by:
Project Team Name is equal to the value in the field Current User Team Name AND
Project Team Name is not equal to ""
With testing it is not working so something is not quite right with the above.

5 years agoIt should work. When you look at an example task record what's in fields you are comparing?

- IvanWeiss5 years agoQrew CaptainI through some fields on a report so I can see what is going on and it is The Current User Team Name that is the issue, it is blank. I checked the relationship and it is not determining who the current user is so that is the problem.
How do I get the relationship between Tasks and Team Members to auto change based on the current user? This way I can pull back down the team members name

1. Are you in the Team Members Table?
2. What do you see in an example record for the field [current user] on tasks.
3. Is the user ID in the team members table the same as what you see in the current user field in tasks?

- I added the field to the tasks table. Is that where current user is supposed to be? That is also where I placed the current user field.
- It is blank, but this might be related to #1 if I have this in the wrong spot
- I am not sure I understand here. I can get the current user in the tasks table fine. What I am not sure how to do is to change the relationship team member based on that current user field. So the Current User field in tasks... What is it supposed to be doing? Right now it is not connected to anything else so I think that is the root of the issue.
