If I am giving option to a role to manage users, how do ensure that the user does not give themselves or someone else the admin role?
- MCFNeil8 years agoQrew CaptainIt depends on the sorted order of the roles. As in if the Admin is the top of the list, and you are number 2, you cannot move yourself (or other people) up the list, but only down the list.
- ArshadKhwaja8 years agoQrew CommanderThanks Matt. But if I have a role with manage users turned on, that user can change the role to admin regardless of where his/her role is listed. Looks like this is a weakness.
- MCFNeil8 years agoQrew CaptainThe difference is "Admin vs Basic". It might show the option to 'upgrade' the user, but it wont actually save the change.
I tested the app in a "basic, sharing" role and I was able to select the "Developer" role in the dropdown, but the change doesn't stick.
"1 role NOT changed"
Once you leave the test, or refresh the page, they user will still be in the basic role. - ArshadKhwaja8 years agoQrew CommanderThanks. OK great. I was not reading the message properly. Would be great if admin is not listed as the option.
Within the role, is there anything I need to change while I am away for example Hide UI and App table settings or leave it as is. - MCFNeil8 years agoQrew CaptainI'm all about "Less is More" when it comes to UI
- MeredithMoore18 years agoQrew CadetStill would like to grant Refresh for linked tables to this. Sigh.
- MCFNeil8 years agoQrew CaptainSee this post for details on how to make a url that anybody can initiate the refresh.
