OK, actually now I see their logic. That button simply positions the cursor to the next unused line on the grid edit form. It does not take you to an Add Record form. So, for example if there were 20 (or perhaps 200 or 2,000 entries) you would not need to scroll down to find the first unused line.
- BethBeth8 years agoQrew Assistant CaptainStill not at all cool to add something to a form that can't be modified or changed! I am sure many of us have forms that are now messed up thanks to this.
- BethBeth8 years agoQrew Assistant CaptainP.S. Don't see in at least publicly posted release notes where they said this was going to happen - if so, where is it??
- QuickBaseCoachD8 years agoQrew CaptainI agree, It is unusual for Quick Base to release new features which are not in the release notes. I assume that one just got missed.
- BethBeth8 years agoQrew Assistant CaptainThanks for talking me off the cliff. :)
But, still "just" got missed for a really big sweeping change to forms???
Ok, I will let this rest and let others who are paying w-a-y more than we are to make the complaints - or we will just learn to live with it. (But I still would like to be able to customize the thing - bright green? Really?) - QuickBaseCoachD8 years agoQrew CaptainWell, the Add Record buttons on a Table Home page are green too. So that would be consistent.
- BethBeth8 years agoQrew Assistant CaptainBut they're not down in the middle of a beautiful form with colored tabs and carefully colored button links and such. At the very least, we ought to be able to rename the tab. (QB says the position of the summary is under review, fwiw.)
And now, truly, I will go do real work for today! :) - BethBeth8 years agoQrew Assistant CaptainAnd even though it positions the cursor there, you still have to scroll to see the cell you're about to type in. You can just start typing and the screen will scroll to go there - *if* the first cell in the report is not a formula field - and mine happens to be. (Found this out as part of doing real work...)
