Highlight or summarize data based on specific scenarios

Highlight or summarize data based on specific scenarios

I have a cases table (Parent) and a contacts table(child). In the cases table I want to highlight/identify those cases that have any of the following types of contacts.

  1. [Outcome of Contact] = Successful, [Contact Type] = In the community (at least 4 instances within a given month)
  2. [Outcome of Contact] = Successful, [Contact Type] = In the community (at least 3 instances within a given month) , [Contact Type] = Office (at least 1 instance within a given month)

There is also a "Date of Contact" field within the contacts table that may or may not have ramifications to this request.

  • Hi Phelan!

You can do this through the report settings. I've added a video from my site here that shows how to add a formula similar to what you've outlined to highlight report rows. NOTE: quick base has changed a bit since I made this video, but the formula option to color code is still there.

      Thanks Sharon,

I am dealing with a parent table and want to summarize its child table "Contacts". I wont be able to use that formula type as the fields lie within the child table.

You should still be able to achieve this with the formula, but you'll need to add summary fields to your parent table that display the information from the child table that you're interested in. It's an extra step, but I'm not sure you can do what you're asking without it.
