How can I use a colourization formula to highlight record(show only last added record only) based on date

Are these records related to another table by chance? Are they possibly the child of a parent table? If so you could create a summary field that summarizes up the Max Record ID related to each parent record then pass it back to the child record as a lookup field, then set up a colorization formula to highlight that record in a certain color when its Record ID is equal to the Max Related Record ID.
