How do I hide a field so it don't show on main form but can be accessed through edit mode?

Have a similar question : I only want certain fields to appear if they fulfill the form rules but not on the main form when nothing has yet to be selected.

Currently I do have some fields which won't be reflected in a new form yet all the "display when this form is used for" options are  edit, add or view.
