How do I hide the numeric (reference) field type from showing in my form?

I have two tables with a one to many relationship (say Tab 1 - Master and Tab 2-Details). They are linked by record id from the master. When I add a new record on the details table, it shows the record IDs in the drop down for the reference proxy. The record # selected drives another lookup field. Instead I want the drop down to show the lookup field values from the master in the drop down. How do I do that?
  • Hi User,

You are seeing the Record ID# because that is showing as the default field for identifying parent records. In order to change this you would want to go into the Master Table, open up the settings, and then go into Advanced Settings. In the Advance Settings there is a header for Identifying Records, this sets the default for displaying related records. You would just need to substitute in the fields you want to use to identify the Parent Records from a reference field in a Child. You can find below a link to a video that shows where to find this option:

I hope this  information is helpful and thank you for your time today.
