How do I only show the last entry in a notes field (log entries)?

I only want to display in the report the last entry:

[MAY-09-13 Toni R] Internal meetings held on Monday, May 6th and Thursday, May 9th to review the customer requirements. Sales will provide the required follow-up information. Michael B will be managing this project and will reach out to the team if there are any additional questions as the project moves forward.

[MAY-02-13 Toni R] Customer has provided traffic routing information. Meeting scheduled for Monday, May 6th to review with internal project team.

    If($LatestMissingSquareBracket <>"", "[" & $LatestMissingSquareBracket )



    Note that this formula only wiorks if the newest entries are at the top. "Prepending" in old-speak QuickBase terms.

      Hello, I am using your formula for the same purpose only that I would like to see only the first entry, can you help me with that

      Can you post an example of what the data looks like in that Append field.

      Specific: (FIELD NAME)
      [JAN-09-19 Data System Specialist (Administrator)] come to school

      [JAN-09-19 Data System Specialist (Administrator)] To learn more and move up a level to get soon my GED also gets perfect attendance. I have to come to school Monday to Friday at 9:00 am to be part of the ideal attendance  student weekly list

      [JAN-28-19 Data System Specialist (Administrator)] Testing

    It would be a formula text field and the formula goes in the formula box.  Then you put the field on your report or form.

    I attempted this but I am getting the first entry in the Notes field instead (in the example above, I am showing the May 2nd entry).  The field I am using in the formulat is a prepend field (or latest notes on top).  Any idea?

    How do I set up the notes field to have it display like the persons above (date, person, text?)

    edit the field properties to enable "Log the edits to this field, and show them on forms"

    has something changed with this in the last 5 months? i'm getting the oldest entry at the bottom of my comments field...
