How to auto-fill a User (lookup) field in a form with the current user.

I've been trying to create a rule in the new form rule editor that auto-fills the current user into a User (lookup) field when the form is loaded. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!

    You will have to explain your tables and relationships. Are you saying that you have a table of users (say employees) or something like that but the Key field is Record ID and not the user ID?   So are you asking how to fill in the field for [Related Employee].  Of course you cannot fill in a lookup field,  you have to populate the reference field on the relationship.
