how to edit multiple choice text

Hi All,

Can you please let me know if we can edit the text of "multiple choice text"

Consider I have a column Department which is a multiple choice text
Initially , I had three choices ,

Math
Bio
Chemistry

Now I want to change Bio to Biology. is it possible? When i do that , the child table content is not changed, it shows in "red" colour.

can you please help me in resolving the issue. 

Note : I cannot add a new option "biology"  as this is a key column that has been used in all child tables.

    After adding the new choice and removing the old one, You will need to run a list all type report on the Parent table and then use the more button to Search and Replace in that field to change Bio to Biology.

    Then do the same on all child tables

      Thanks a lot. I will try and get back to you in case of any issues.

      Note: Got a suggestion from a friend to download the data with the record id in a csv and then edit and upload it back. There by, we will not change the child table.

        In the child table, is this field just a lookup field or is it the reference field in the relationship?  I assumed that  that it was the reference  field in the relationship.

        if it's a lookup field it will update automatically.
