How to make an embedded report editable on the new form

Ok... loving the new form builder BUT.... I can't see how to make an embedded report editable. Basically, what's the new version of this:  Is this possible? ----------------...

Has there been any resolution on this feature yet does anyone know? It's surprising that the new forms are still so lacking in function 2 years later.
