Do you mean by triggering an email Notification? Is that what you mean by send an email?
- cavenuecavenue7 years agoQrew TraineeI want to send a contact record an email from me. Lets say the contact is a customer and I want to send them a sales proposal.
I want to go to their record.
Click email them.
And have quickbase send them my sales proposal.
then go to quickbase and see that the activity has been marked as SENT EMAIL.
Is there a way to do this?
thanks - QuickBaseCoachD7 years agoQrew CaptainIs Activity a child record to the main record, or is it just a field on the form?
If it is just a field on the form, then I suggest you set up and notification of type open and trigger the email notification to your client when the activity field is changed to sent email.
Once you get that working then you can post back and if you feel you want to increase the automation by having a button to click to change that activity status to send email, then I can help you with that. - cavenuecavenue7 years agoQrew TraineeI'm still learning how to use this software. The activity is in a different table. So my questions is can I just click on their email. Send them an email with my sales proposals and then have this information tracked in QB as SENT EMAIL? So that I can follow up at a later time? thanks
- QuickBaseCoachD7 years agoQrew CaptainIt is probably possible to do that but if you are very new to Quick Base you will need some help setting that up.
When you are asking to "send them an email" do you mean to open up an email window in your email client (like Outlook or gmail) and then you will compose the email your self or perhaps with some fields filled in and then you want to attach a file manually to that email? ie when you say send the proposal so you mean to attach say a PDF to the email? Or is the email itself the proposal. - cavenuecavenue7 years agoQrew Traineeyes, i am less than 30 days new to this! And yes, ideally the email could self populate and send a PDF to the person. Then automatically be marked in a history section somewhere.
But it seems that stuff like that is going to require coding that is probably beyond my scope of understanding. I wish it was as easy as drag and drop. thanks. - QuickBaseCoachD7 years agoQrew CaptainQuick Base cannot natively create a PDF. I typically use Juiced, who are a 3rd party add on provider, to generate the PDF and then also to email that.
That does require some setup, though.
