Importing a file with both UPC Code (12 digits) and a Field containing COMMAS to CSV
We have a field called "Catalog Description" that is a multi-line Text field that often contains commas. There is another field called "UPC" that is 12-16 digits.
1. To avoid the UPC being converted to Scientific Notation when opening in Excel, you must used the "Import" function. You then select "Comma" as the delimiter and mark the UPC field as TEXT (Not General) and then import. This correctly formats the UPC Code field on import.
2. However, This is causing export errors for the "Catalog Description" field that holds many commas, causing the rest of the data columns to be mis-imported. Any thoughts?
