Your best bet might be opening a support request given that I'd like to see your app to be able to answer this usefully. Is the Inventory record that is the mate of the added Usage record already made when they add that Usage record? One approach might be to have a Pipeline trigger when the Usage is added to then create the appropriate Inventory record to adjust the number available... but you should probably have someone look at your app and give you feedback from there.
