Is it a good idea to use Report as a table instead of multiple tables to fetch data down into my custom application?

I have custom code to fetch and display data from multiple tables in quickbase by using table id's. Is it feasible to create a report in quickbase by joining these tables and using this report id to fetch the data instead? I do not want all the columns from these tables and I can also add the filters I need in the quickbase report before fetching data.
