My parent table is the "Project" and then right now I currently have a child table labeled "Parts."

4 years agoIf you have a list of Standard Parts in a table or just a table or Parts some of which are fagged as being standard for new project, you can set up an Automation that triggers when a Project is created. It would them copy the Parts into a child table of the Project.
Presumably your setup looks like this
Project <Project Parts > Parts Master.
So One Project has many Project Parts, and One Parts Master has many Parts Master.
When you do the copy step in Automations, you can specify the the field [Related Project] gets populated with the Record ID# from the trigger step.
This can also be done using Pipeline. Quickbase seems to be encouraging us to use Pipelines over Automations at this time.
