Is there a way to enable or disable cell shading on a form?

I have built and managed multiple apps, but haven't noticed this until now. I have one app that appears to have automatically created the cell shading on forms, but in other apps, the shading is not there. I wasn't sure if there was a setting somewhere that I am missing out on?

    I just realized that it is a monitor setting that is causing this.... The shading doesn't appear on different resolutions depending on the monitor settings.
