Is there a way to make a non-dynamic field into a dynamic one?

You need to edit the field properties to enable searching on the field. 

Include this field when searching/filtering this table

If the field does not offer the checkbox,  such as a numeric field, then make a new formula text field to create a text field to use as the Dynamic Filter.
