Is there a way to simply color code groups in a report so that every other group is a different color?
Without using any group ID's as they will change frequently without any pattern. I assume this is a no, but checking anyways.

If they truly are changing 'frequently without any pattern' then no matter the formula or set up you do, it will never be consistent.
