make entire form read only

Can you describe a little more about the purpose? 

I'll give this some more thought, but off the top of my head: You can copy the form.  Then go into the form settings and, for each field check the box 'Read-only (even when used for data-entry)'.  This will mean the field(s) is only read only on that particular form.  If you do this for all fields on the form I believe you''ll get the desired result.

If you can arrange the Custom Permissions of the table for the record for that Role not to able to be Modify records,  then the User will not be able to edit, only View.
