Migrating Users from another application

What would be the recommendation of migrating 300-500 users from another application we're going to stop using and start using Quickbase?

There will be multiple groups and roles, so is there an import for all group and roles and will it send out email notifications?

  • On the Users page in an app, there is an import option:

It takes a list or csv of email addresses. I'm not sure if there's a way to import roles, groups, or existing hierarchy. That said, I think this can be done with Quickbase API to some extent. Using Quickbase API, create queries to add members and managers to groups.

Another option is in the Quickbase admin console, you can similarly import users as above, but you can also select one or more groups for the imported users. So for example, you can break your 300 users into separate CSVs for their groups and import those.

Admin Console -> Groups -> More -> Add Users to Groups

Do you know if all the email notifications are sent out each upload?

Darian, after hitting "Next" after uploading the CSV list, you'll be prompted:  "Send email invitations to these users".
