Open a folder on a network drive

I've been trying to establish a button which would open a folder on a network drive. I've been able to accomplish this within Chrome, which displays the folders and files, but I would like to have it open a Windows Explorer window so files in the folder can be edited and more added. 

I have it set up to where in edit when the project is added the folders location would be added, then in view it would show a button to that location. I've been trying to figure this out for a while now and figure some javascript will need to be used, which I'm not very good at yet.
