Quick Base and Manufacturing

Hey Quick Basers in manufacturing – we're seeing a lot of manufacturers use Quick Base for great results. We'd love to learn more about what you do, how you use Quick Base, and to help get the conversation started with your the other awesome manufacturing community members here on the Community.

1. What are some of the biggest challenges you are facing right now as a manufacturer? (This can be outside of QB)
2. What current uses of Quick Base have really helped you improve your process?
3. Is there a recent accomplishment/app that helped you and your company get even more out of Quick Base?
4. What upcoming feature(s) are you super interested in?

    I have done a crazy complicated app to track the manufacturing of custom sound systems.  These would be the large commercial speakers for night clubs and other music venues, including outdoor events.

    The app is complicated because the essence of the app is kitting.  Each speaker can have custom components in it, so we need to track component inventory and then when the inventory is "kitted up" into an assembled speaker, that inventory is not longer available to use for other Products as say that "driver" is not longer sitting on a shelf but is now inside an assembled speaker Cabinet.

    The app also tracks what the std components are for each product, they std costs, and hence allows the client to quote on selling prices and know their margins.

    It uses the Juiced EF+ add on to generate invoices and quotes and purchase orders.

      That does sound complicated! I bet the barcode scanning functionality coming out would help...I'm always interested in finding out how they worked before getting Quick Base - What did they do before this?

        They just used google sheets before Quick base and everything was separate really.  Lots of unconnected sheets.
