QuickBase notification triggering unexpectedly?

Perhaps this is by design, but I think I might be confused. I have a notification that is triggered when added or modified 'when the following fields change'. The only field selected is a checkbox....

It should not trigger as far as I know unless you have the default value for the checkbox to be checked.

I ran a test. Went to my test app. Set up a fresh table. Set up one checkbox. Made a notification triggered when added or modified. Made the only rule 'when checkbox test field is changed'.

And sure enough, it fires every time you add. I suspect a bug. You can likely quickly repeat my test and I assume find the same result. Ill let you know if they confirm the bug.
