Table relationship with a formula field in child table

I need some help thinking through this architecture. My table 'Asset form' collects data related to company assets. My other table, 'Asset Approvals' will collect approvals for these asset changes....

You can make a summary field of the # of children and another summary field of the # of children ready for processing.

Then you can have a form rule that when the # of children is ready for processing is >0 and the # of children = # of children ready for processing, then allow Ready for Approvals to be editable.

    OK, great.  I should have also mentioned of course that the summary fields will not see your data entry if it's being done In Grid Edit until the record (and hence its children in the grid edit data entry area) is saved.
