Record Picker - Add New Record

Our system has tables for Orders, Customers, Contacts, Addresses etc. 

Orders, Contacts and Addresses are related to Customers.

When editing an Order the user can select a Contact- this is a dropdown conditional on the Customer Name matching the Customer Name in the Order.

If they wish to add a new Contact they can click on the "+ Create a new contact" at the end of the dropdown list.

Is there any way to make the new contact automatically associate itself to the Customer Name - currently the user has pick that from the drop down in the new record form.

I know I can create a "new contact" button separately which will do this but ideally would like the "+ create new contact" option to do this.
