Removing app owner from second role

Hi all.

I did a test in an app I own. In this test I added a second role to my user to see how the app would work with two roles. Now, since I'm the app owner, I'm unable to remove myself from this second role. I understand that app owners shouldn't be able to remove themselves from admin roles, but that should be allowed if owners are assigned to two or more admin roles, until a single admin role remains. Any idea of how I could do that? Should I transfer ownership, ask the new owner to remove the role and transfer ownership back to me? Is there a simpler way, maybe with an API command?
