Report Links link to Report and Not Record - Form Builder Forms

For years, we have successfully used report link fields to link from records in table A to records into table B.

We recently built a new main form for table B using report builder. Now, clicking on report links in table do not take us to the matching record in table B. Instead, a filtered report with only the record from table B is generated.  This creates a needless extra step.

Is it no longer possible to use report links to jump between records? The extra report step is not needed for direct matches.  The report links are for unique fields - Record ID#.  I have tried creating new report link fields and the issue persists.

Has anyone found a workaround for this issue?
