Summary Formulas vs Variable Formulas

Not sure which one I need here, or if there is another way of doing this.  Have a table with Fire Calls, types are Fire and Ems.  I need to show both on a chart, which I have already done.  I need a ...

Can you just try what I suggested and tell me where you get stuck? Just create those three simple formula fields and add those three fields to be on your chart report.

      Sorry man, I must be particularly dense here.  I am not trying to count the number of instances where we have a data entry.  I am trying to combine Fire and EMS calls in a given month and FY.  I would like to do this without having the user do a calculation or make another entry.  As is, they make two records.  One for each month.  One with Call Type "Fire".  One with Call Type "EMS".  I would like to add those two numbers to be on the chart beside them.  Such as this...

      I can do it with additional manual entry, but would like to avoid such.
      If I eliminate call type and make a Fire Call and EMS Call cell, I can easily do a total calls.  But, then my charts have a separate problem.

        OK. I made the wrong assumption that each entry in your database was a single call. In fact, you were saying that you were importing or hand entering two entries for each month.

        Let me think about it in my spin class and I'll get back to you.
