You have not said what record type you are triggering on. You should be triggering on when the table for compliant chases is edited, and if their are criteria based on a summary fields from parent records or regular fields from the parent , get those looked up down to the child so that you can filter your Automation trigger to only trigger when it should trigger.

Thanks.
Can you reword this sentence please? "You should be triggering on when the table for compliant chases is edited, and if their are criteria based on a summary fields from parent records or regular fields from the parent , get those looked up down to the child so that you can filter your Automation trigger to only trigger when it should trigger."
"Looked up down to the child" sounds like what I already did. I have a summary field in the parent table that counts the # of compliant records in the child table.

I'm trying to suggest, that if you are not already doing so, to trigger Automation on a child record being added / edited and I'm guessing that you are now trying to trigger on the parent record (which is not being edited). If the child record needs to know something that the parent knows in order to properly Trigger, then lookup those fields down to the child.
If it is also possible that a status change on the parent record could also need to have another Automation triggering on an actual edit change on the parent.

Is that what you're saying? It sounds like you both are and are not saying that in different sentences. Are you able to reword "look up down to the child"? Maybe you mean something different than a summary field on the parent table that counts child records.
