6 years agoI'm trying to suggest, that if you are not already doing so, to trigger Automation on a child record being added / edited and I'm guessing that you are now trying to trigger on the parent record (which is not being edited). If the child record needs to know something that the parent knows in order to properly Trigger, then lookup those fields down to the child.
If it is also possible that a status change on the parent record could also need to have another Automation triggering on an actual edit change on the parent.

The trigger is currently a change in a summary field on the parent table that counts compliant records on the child table. It doesn't work except on a daily automation.
Is that what you're saying? It sounds like you both are and are not saying that in different sentences. Are you able to reword "look up down to the child"? Maybe you mean something different than a summary field on the parent table that counts child records.

That is my whole point.
"An Automation will only fire when a record is edited and saved. It will not fire on a record change which occurs though the passage of time or via a summary field or lookup field changing."
I'm suggesting that you instead trigger on the child record being modified or added.

Thanks for your assistance.
