Updating parent record when child record changes

That is my whole point.

"An Automation will only fire when a record is edited and saved.  It will not fire on a record change which occurs though the passage of time or via a summary field or lookup field changing."

I'm suggesting that you instead trigger on the child record being modified or added.

​Ok, I tried that about 20 times, no kidding, and it never worked. I tried it again just now and it worked. Weird.
