Using Javascript to make 3rd party API call

Question

Curious if anyone can provide an example of using javascript (presumably as part of a Formula-URL button) to make a 3rd party REST Api call, and then take values from the response and populate into QB fields-&nbsp; ideally this would all be done without having to save/reload the form.

You can throw JS into a formula-url and a $.get call
Like so:

"javascript: {
$.get( url call to external system, function(data,success) {
//data would be what the 3rd party system sends back.
})
}"
