Realm Admin Qrew Group Recap
Hello Realm Admin Qrew! Thank you to everyone who was able to attend Tuesday’s Realm Admin Qrew Meetup! It was jam packed with lots of information and updates from our product team, and great feedback from the audience. Here’s a recap of what happened: Rayna Stoycheva, product manager, did a quick recap of the ALM, QBL, and Solutions API that’s currently being piloted. If you weren’t at Empower, this was an abbreviated version of what was rolled out at the time. You can watch the full version here. Ventsi Tasev, Product Manager, made a huge announcement that is exclusive for Qrew members! The ALM Solutioning beta is now open to customers with a Business license or higher and you do not need to have a services or enablement package get it set up and supported. In the past, it was only available to enterprise customers to try. To take part in the beta, please reach out to me or Ben Simon and we can connect you to the appropriate channels. Drew Ditto, Principle Software Engineer, shared an Solutions API to Github use case that dazzled the audience! If you missed it, Here’s the recording to our meeting. Password: e==nX611 And finally, I have a set of questions I would like to ask of the group from our Enablement Program Manager, Kate Barefoot: What obstacles might prevent you from using our Solution feature set to perform ALM in the platform? What concerns might stakeholders have about implementing Quickbase ALM? How can we address these challenges and concerns effectively so that it makes sense to adopt ALM, Solutions API, and QBL at your organization? The goal is to understand your genuine feeling on the ALM solutions, continue to invest in improving these tools, and grow its adoption among customers. Feel free to respond with your answers directly back to me and I’ll be able to share those over. If you’d rather book a meeting and talk, we can do that as well. Anyone got a good governance use case or topic they would like for us to cover next month? Ping me and let me know so I can start planning out the next agenda for the October 1 st Realm Admin Qrew Meetup. Thank you for your time and have a great afternoon!6Views0likes0CommentsProject Intake Form
Hi everyone! bsimon_personalsuggested I post this question here, so I'm hoping someone has something they use! Does anyone have an app that they use for the project intake process? We're trying to develop a way to better capture requests for new solutions (both QB and non) and ask all the right questions up front so we have a better idea of what we're getting into, weighing out the costs, etc., before we just start doing a full discovery and building. We've noticed a tendency of running with ideas without first really weighing out the costs and seeing what software/solutions already exist that could be used, and we're trying to rein it all in. I'm thinking a form that asks things like the below and then enables us to do follow up, create estimates, etc. Thanks! What is the problem you are trying to solve for? What solutions have you explored? What other systems are used for the process where integration may be needed? How frequently would those integrations/syncs need to happen? Who are the stakeholders? How many users will need access? Who will support the solution? Have you budgeted for this/what is your budget?30Views1like1CommentAugust 6th Realm Admin Qrew Meet Up Recap

Hello Realm Admin Qrew! I have a question for you to answer: How many realm admins do your organization have? Do you share roles and responsibilities? Example: I have two realm admins (including myself). We share some responsibilities, but would like to give access to everything to my second realm admin. Is that possible? What are the drawbacks I need to be aware of? Let's start a discussion and share your thoughts below!81Views0likes4CommentsNext Realm Admin Customer Network Meeting: Tuesday August 6th, 2024 12pm EST

Hi Realm Admin folks! Josh Miller, our residence Governance Expert at Quickbase, is looking for volunteers, who is interested in checking out his starter pack Governance Apps that will be launched in the Exchange soon. Some folks asked what these apps are all about. Here's a description: Governance Starter Pack is three apps: Admin Console Sync Hub - a repository for your Admin Console Sync Tables Realm Insights - where you manage information and make decisions for different aspects of the Realm Realm Logger - where you log changes, additions, and deletions regarding attributes in the Realm (think deleted apps, permission changes for users, etc.) These help you govern your realm at a very foundational level (first version will come with Users, Apps, and User Access tables) and gives you a base to expand upon as you scale your governance. *This could take an end user around an hour to three hours to set up. He is working to drastically reduce the development time and that is where he needs your help. Second is an app called Group Configuration. This allows you to manage your groups by creating reports that keep the groups up to date. Example: a user has a report of all active managers. The filter is Employee Status is equal to active. This report is assigned to a group. Once a day this report will update and will not include employees that move to terminated status. This app will log the additions and deletions and make sure the group is updated on a dailybasis. Josh Miller would like to these by some folks to see if it resonates and if so, what improvements can he can make before deploying to the exchange. If you are interested in checking out what Josh is cooking up, please book a 30 minute meeting with him here. ------------------------------ Esther LaVielle ------------------------------20Views0likes0CommentsRealm Admin Post-Meeting Recap and Notes for February 2024
Hello! Thanks for joining us at Realm Admin Customer Network Qrew session today where Jim Harrison from Harder Mechanical showed us how he manages user access. In a nutshell, to provision access for SSO users, Jim does it using Postman, JSON API, and the Quickbase user ID that you can leverage via the admin console table. No need to put in a tech support ticket to approve or deny access. Very empowering! If you have any questions or comments about today's use case, let us know or feel free to post it in the Realm Admin discussion page for everyone to review and comment on. Links shared by Jim during the presentation: Quickbase JSON RESTful API Link to the recording Password: Quickbaserealmadminfeb We got feedback from the group that "Groups" data would like to include "Last Access" to be more useful. It's been reported in the Feedback to Product. If this would help you as well, we encourage you to login and upvote it by click on this link. Finally, if you'd like to present a topic or suggest topic idea for Empower 2024 happening on May 8 th , 2024, you can sign up to be a Qrew Champion and then complete the challenge to be an Empower speaker here Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at our next Realm Admin meeting on Wednesday, March 13 th at 12pm EST. ------------------------------ Esther LaVielle ------------------------------7Views0likes0Comments
