We're building a new app with the "new" form builder for the first time, and seeing an issue with embedded reports. The default column width on the embedded table reports is partially obscuring the data, and although you can manually expand each column, there doesn't seem to be a way to make those column widths stick.Am I missing something, or is this a deficiency of the new form UI? We have half a dozen apps using the legacy UI with dozens and dozens of embedded tables, and this has never been a problem.Fwiw, I found the following post describing the same problem on dashboard pages, but this is not a dashboard page. It's happening on the 'main form' within our tables... https://community.quickbase.com/discussions/quickbase-discussions/can-you-set-column-widths-for-reports-in-the-new-dashboard-pages/19595Thanks in advance for any insight.
I'm trying to build what I thought would be a simple button for saving the current child record and adding a new one to the same parent record. I'm essentially just trying to duplicate the native Save & New button so I can place it next to the native Save and Close button. Will I need a code page for this?I have programs that have many program charges and the Users want separate buttons for adding additional records and saving the record when done adding multiple charges. FID_6 is the related Program RID in the child table, Program Charges. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

As a solo developer often tasked with taking over ongoing projects in various stages of completion with either poor documentation or none at all, I spend a lot of time comparing copy apps with their originals to find the differences in order to inform how to proceed with a project.Is there a way that I'm missing to not have to do this manually? For even a moderately sized app it is extremely time-consuming to have to check every single field, pipeline, etc in two places to see if they differ.I don't need to see how they differ (manual review for that is reasonable), just whether they do. Essentially just a list of elements modified/created/deleted since the copy app was created is what I'm looking for. Is there a way to obtain this info?
how would i make a fake social security number when the data entry doesn't have it at the time? it would need to lookup in the SSN field for999-99-9999999-99-9998999-99-9997etc.and the next auto entry would be 999-99-9996.I could create a table with all the possible values or maybe there's a formula to use somehow?
I have three tables in Quickbase:EmployeesTrainingsProfilesI’m trying to build a Pipeline that automatically assigns trainings to employees based on their "profile".Example:The "profile" called “Basic”requires:CPR TrainingFirst Aid TrainingIf John Doe is assigned the “Basic” profile, the Pipeline should automatically add John Doe to the existing CPR and First Aid training records.A few important requirements:The Pipeline should only add trainings where the Employee Profile matches the Training Profile.The Pipeline must check for duplicate trainings and NOT add the employee to a training if they are already associated with it.If this can be done without a Pipeline I am all ears.
I'm trying to create a search feature where a user can search for let's say John Smith or a Tax id or PIN. For the standard search, if the user searches for John Smith, it does not return any records, even though there is a John Smith. I'm assuming this is happening because the first and last name are in different fields.I kind of want an ai search but only search one table and any fields or combination of fields in that table.Is this possible?
I’m setting up a 60-day reminder in Quickbase with additional conditions, but I need the email recipients to vary depending on the value in the “Short Title” field. For example:• If “Short Title” = HYHOPE → users A, B, and C should receive the reminder • If “Short Title” = RTOG 920 → users B, D, and F should receive the reminderThere are many possible “Short Title” values, so creating a separate reminder for each one isn’t realistic or maintainable. Is there a way to dynamically assign reminder recipients based on field values like this without building a separate reminder for each case? (see screenshot).I’m worried this may require using Pipelines. I’ve tried Pipelines before for other things and haven’t been able to get them to work reliably or accurately, so I’m hoping there might be a simpler or native approach within reminders or formulas before going down that route. Or, if Pipelines is the best option here, I’d really appreciate a step-by-step example of how to build i

Those of you who attended Empower26 in Houston, don't need me to tell you how it brought together builders, admins, innovators, and operational leaders for a packed first day of learning, networking, and product exploration. For those of you who were not there I'd like to go over some of the highlights you missed, especially from the opening keynote, where Quickbase leaders, customers, and partners shared a clear message about where operational innovation is headed next. The Power of the Quickbase Community Click image to enlarge Kim Eaton, Quickbase CEO, opened the keynote by highlighting what has always made Quickbase special: the people who build with it. The Quickbase Community continues to grow, share, teach, and support one another in ways that go far beyond product usage. Kim emphasized how builders enable and uplift each other, whether they are solving complex operational problems, sharing app-building best practices, or helping newer members find their way. I don't know if its my end but been experiencing weird report behaviors. The report formula duplicates themselves even up to 10 times. Its' really annoying. The filtering criteria too also get wrapped in a weird.
Trying to get a qr code to print on a 4x6 label and I am using Exact Forms Plus and I have the following formula in my purchase order table under QR Code: "<img src=\"https://quickchart.io/qr?&size=150x150&text=" & URLEncode(URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=dr&rid=" & [Record ID#]) & "\" />"No matter how I have that formatted it does NOT change the size of the qr code as shown in the attached picture. Using that formula, the qr code does scan to the correct information. I had found a format on one of the help tutorials telling me that I needed to use this code in my template: ~=barcode(f[227],qrcode,150x150)~ When I use that field in my template, it works perfectly and I can get the qr code to resize just the way I need it to at whatever size, BUT The code no longer scans. It comes up to a google page searching for F(227).
Assuming I have a way to do survey by pushing a button which does a count with a timestamp. I want to get the records list by their attempt time which might be in their chronological order of attempt. The max I do attempt is 3. I understand I can use summary field to get the first and last attempt using the Minimum and Maximum but now the value in the middle is what am struggling to get. Anyone with an idea how to go about it? I will appreciate.
Hello!I've got an API button that when triggered, creates a new record with some preset information pulled in.That all works except in the instances where I need some fields to be blank.I thought I could use an If/Then statement to complete data or stay blank when necessary. for exp,If( [Renewed Parking rent] >0, [Renewed Parking rent] ), [...] I assumed if I left that as the statement, nothing would happen in the even of a $0 amount. The new record's field would be intentionally blank. Instead strangely, when data should be blank (whether the if/then sample above is blank or null), it populates a crazy amount like $25,000... It's always roughly $2#,###.I've attached some of the screenshots of the data output (currency fields) and formula. The text fields populate correctly if for example, [Renewal OutcomeStorage] (currency) =0 so the output for [Storage] = No (row 32) but [Storage Rent] (currency) should be blank but instead reflects $24,302.00.Any ideas about
Since QuickBase is making new RecordID how do i go about migrating into the RecordID used by QuickBase instead of relying on PersonID and OrderID/PersonID of the old database where the exports are coming from? I have some ideas that i can export the main customer table after inporting into QB and get the RecordID there and then future exports can have the RecordID added to them before importing.Can I override the default RecordID or something like that?What is the best way to go about importing from another database?Export From:Table (client) - PersonIDTable (orders) - PersonID one to manyImport to QuickBase:Table (Client) - receives a new Record ID made by QuickBase.Table (Orders) - receives a new RecordID made by QuickBase relationship joined to RecordID in client as one to many
What would be the recommendation of migrating 300-500 users from another application we're going to stop using and start using Quickbase? There will be multiple groups and roles, so is there an import for all group and roles and will it send out email notifications?
Hello, I feel like what I'm needing could have been done with the previous automations feature, but I'm trying to do this in a pipeline and it's very cumbersome and honestly too much coding... Is there a better and more simple way to create and track record changes in a table? I feel like the Pipelines feature doesn't fall in line with low-code, no code branding, and I've spent so much time researching on how to set this up in a pipeline :(------------------------------LB------------------------------
Hi, I'm trying to include a column for a property image preview similar to what is shown under 'Projects' in the Project Hub app. The formula appears to be correct but nothing is coming up. What am I doing wrong? Here it is...If([Building Photo] <> "", "<div style='display:inline-block; width:200px; height:150px; text-align:center; overflow:hidden; border:2px solid #ccc; border-radius:8px;'> \n <img style='width:100%; height:100%; object-fit:cover;' \n src='" & URLRoot() & "up/" & Dbid() & "/a/r" & [Record ID#] & "/e120/v0' />\n </div>")
I'm trying to take a date of an event, and return the name of the Fiscal Period that date falls within, from another table!!Here's the scenario.A transaction happens in Table A. The date of the event is 5/24/2026.Normally, on a summary table, that transaction would all in the the May 2026 summaries of total sales. Too simple!!Our finance team has fiscal months, closing on the last weekend of the month! Meaning this would actually roll into next Fiscal Month! To make matters worse, they do not refer to months, but Periods.Below is a table of the FY and Period Labels.What I'd like to do - is from my transactions list, is query the FY and Period Labels Table, and pull the FY and Period which this transaction falls within (Start and End Date) so that I can then build summaries of my transactions using FY and Period.For example:GetFieldValues(GetRecords( Date of Transaction is On or After the Start Date AND Date of Transaction is On or Before the End Date) Return the FY an
Dwight Munson has his reasons. Can you believe that Quickbasehas been hosting Empower since 2015?! Much has changed since then (even how we spell "Quickbase") but Empower is still Empower: the best place to connect with others who use and love Quickbase. Today we hear from Qrew Captain Dwight Munson, aka DwightMunson1. Dwight Munson, Database Developer, Sigma Technologies, Ltd. What are you most excited about for Empower this year? (e.g., sessions, speakers, networking, product updates, etc.)While I'm not attending in person this year, I'm excited to see the product direction, especially how Quickbase is evolving with the Juiced Technologies and Solvice acquisitions. Last year, hearing directly from the product team, interacting with them, and seeing where the platform was heading was one of the most interesting parts of the event. What challenges or goals are you hoping to focus on while you’re there? This year, in general, besides continuing to push mo

I have reached 90 Pipeline (triggers) limit for my table.I need to do more pipelines with that table, anyone has a workaround ? (I cannot turn off pipelines)Here's what I've tried so far:1- Zapier/Make : doesn't work because I cannot trigger a zap if a specific field was updated. 2- Consolidate pipelines: Doesn't work because I cannot set a condition of "what trigger caused this pipeline to fire)3- Look up field in another table and trigger the field based on that: Doesn't work, QB doesn't trigger workflows on lookup fields4- (3) + A formula field that dynamically sets the value matching the field on the main table: Doesn't work, QB doesn't trigger workflows on formula fields
I am working on a app that serves as an intake staging area for a public facing form. The forms only identifiers to the customer is an account number. I am tying to use this account number to copy the record to a different application using that number as reference to attach to a table with existing records. My pipeline is currently setup in the following way:Step 1:Intake record which triggers on a status change from "pending" to "approved" We will call the app this step looks at "Intake"No issues with this stepStep 2: Search records from what we will call the "Live" app which has an "Organizations" table with entries including the org name, details and the EIN#. Fields for subsequent steps here include that account #. Step is finding the EIN# and shows the org name in the output.Step 3:Basic condition to only proceed if records are found matching account #.Step 4:Creates a new record in the Live app primary table. Organization is a require field and I have {{b[0].id}}
I am trying to convert a number field to a text field, but keep the number formatted with commas. When formatted as a number, it reads: xx,xxx,xxx.xx but the commas don't stick when I use the 'totext' function. Any ideas?
