ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: QR code to add new record Hi Mark, Thank you for your feedback. Yes, the issue is that users can only access the EOTI table through the app if they are registered users. Otherwise, they have to go through a web browser. The web browser option would be just fine if users could scan the equipment item as was intended. However, when opening the form via a browser, the scan functionality is not there. Users are forced to select the equipment from a dropdown menu with thousands of options. I am aware that users can just start typing in the field to limit the available options. However, we are really trying to make this as easy as possible for them to "select" the item they are inspecting by scanning it. Unfortunately, the scanning icon does not show up for them when the user doesn't have the app installed. It forces them to select from the drop-down list. ------------------------------ Juan Solorio ------------------------------ QR code to add new record Hello everyone, I have a table that stores equipment items, and there's a field that stores a QR code for each item. These QR codes are also printed on labels and affixed to their corresponding equipment item. Users perform inspections on these equipment items daily. The goal is to have users walk up to a piece of equipment and scan it, and this would launch the inspection form in QB in add mode, with the equipment item already filled out or selected. I know that we can already accomplish this with the QB app. However, many users will not be registered QB users simply because it's pointless to add them and pay for a license when all they'll ever do in QB is fill out these forms. Since they won't be registered users, they won't be able to use the app. Note that we already have the relevant table available to "Everyone on the internet". We just need to be able to incorporate the scanning functionality. Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated! ------------------------------ Juan Solorio ------------------------------ Custom Save and Close buttonHello everyone, This is probably a super simple solution but for the life of me I have not been able to get it to work. I am trying to create a custom button that simply saves the record on a form that has both the parent and the child records in edit mode. Example: A parent record form has an embedded grid of related child records. When the parent record is in edit mode, the grid of child records is editable, so that the user can add or modify the related child records. At this point, the parent record has already been saved, so the record ID of the parent already exists. All I want my button to do is to save any changes made to both/either the parent or the child records. I want this button to work exactly like Quickbase's native "save & close" button. Thanks in advance for your help! ------------------------------ Juan Solorio ------------------------------ Re: Limiting size of files a user can upload.Hi Mike, Same here. This feature has been needed by almost every client of mine. There is an update from Quick Base on this: ------------------------------------------- There's been an update on your Quickbase request:attachment size Your request status is now:Planned Here's the update from Kristina Hristova of Quickbase: "Hello all - we want to let everyone know that we plan to implement this feature on our new forms. There is no timeline at this point, but keep an eye on our release notes for more details." -------------------------------------------- A step in the right direction, no doubt. Hopefully, it will be implemented sooner rather than later. ------------------------------ Juan Solorio ------------------------------ Re: Can I create a filed/report to show the size of attachments?Hello Ning, Is there any resolution on this to your knowledge? ------------------------------ Juan Solorio ------------------------------ Re: Limiting size of files a user can upload.Hello John, Where/how do you use this code snippet? Do you know how to go about doing that? I am also experiencing the same issue. Thanks in advance! ------------------------------ Juan Solorio ------------------------------ Re: How to generate report of records related in many-to-many relationshiptsThanks, Mark! We had implemented a similar approach with an intermediary table. However, the roadblock we came across was that only one User (or Element) could be viewed at a time. If multiple people were attempting to view these reports simultaneously, they would not be able to because the single record in the intermediary table keeps getting overwritten every time they click the button. Nevertheless, it is the closest we have come to what we are looking for, and it definitely does what we need it to do. Thanks again!
