An example would be to have a list of users, and in the filter section of the report do includes the user(s) _curuser_ You can get a bunch of these field references from here (I think you would just use underscores in reports though: Markers, User Tokens, and Field References – Quickbase Help ------------------------------ Nolan Pilozo ------------------------------ Form Navigation step format as a field Hey everyone, So, I moved away from using the step navigation option in my form because it restricted me to a single form for the whole process and it forced me to save even if I didn't want to at that point in the process. I have since adopted multiple forms that the user jumps between to make it more of a process to fill out the steps. I would like to be able to use something like the step navigation option where it has a visual of how far along it is (dictated by another field, i.e. its step 3 so it's filled up this much) BUT also says the name of the step (so underneath it would say step 3. XXXX) done in a field so that I can add it to all the forms I'm using. Also currently using the progress bar from the exchange but it doesn't display the name of the steps as well. All help is greatly appreciated! ------------------------------ Nolan Pilozo ------------------------------ Re: How to Create a Save and Refresh Button that seems to be the fix that was holding us back. I'll play around with it to redirect it but it's updating the record properly now! Thanks both ------------------------------ Nolan Pilozo ------------------------------ Re: How to Create a Save and Refresh Button I actually don't care about add mode as this will only be done on existing records, so I'm only doing it off of the edit form OR have it as a field in a report and you can just click it to have it go through. I have also tried the "%%rid%%" solution, and copy and pasted this code as well, but still keep coming up with the same error ------------------------------ Nolan Pilozo ------------------------------ Re: How to Create a Save and Refresh Button My current code is var text URL = URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=API_EditRecord&rid=" & [Record ID#] & "_fid_20=" & URLEncode("success") & "&rdr=" & URLEncode(URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=dr&rid=" & [Record ID#]); and the error I get is <qdbapi> <action>API_EditRecord</action> <errcode>30</errcode> <errtext>No such record</errtext> <errdetail>Missing "rid" parameter.</errdetail> </qdbapi> ------------------------------ Nolan Pilozo ------------------------------ Re: How to Create a Save and Refresh Button Thanks Mike, I decided to just disable the apptoken which was the factor stopping me before, but using this I'm now having an issue where the rid is apparently missing even though I'm doing this in an edit form. Any thoughts? ------------------------------ Nolan Pilozo ------------------------------ Re: How to Create a Save and Refresh Button Is there a way to repurpose this to instead of opening in edit mode, it will edit a field, save, then go to a dashboard or report? Goal is to have a button to accept in a form, and when clicked it changes another fields value, saves the changes, returns to a dashboard page. I have been using the following: var text URL = URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=API_EditRecord&rid=" & [Record ID#] &"_fid__20=" & URLEncode("success") &"&ticket=auth_ticket&apptoken=app_token"; "<a class='SaveBeforeNavigating' data-replaceRid=true style=\"text-decoration:none; background: #4b7097; border-radius: 5px; color: #ffffff; display: inline-block; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; width:100px; text-align: center; text-shadow: none; border: 2px solid #030404; font-size: 12px \"href='" & $URL & "'>Accept</a>" Some variation of this was able to edit the field fine, but would then open some page saying it's missing xml data and force a close or back button, which is not ideal. ------------------------------ Nolan Pilozo ------------------------------ Re: Opening different forms in edit mode at different parts of a process Thanks Mark! I was just getting stuck at the "?a= er&dfid=xx&rid=" as I wasn't sure what to add/remove/edit ------------------------------ Nolan Pilozo ------------------------------ Opening different forms in edit mode at different parts of a process Hi, I'm trying to make a button that opens a specific form in edit mode depending on where the record is in a process. Using URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_EXAMPLE] & "?a= er&rid=" & [Record ID#] I was able to get a button that opens the form in edit mode, but it only opened the form that had a role associated with it open in edit mode (i.e. Role has Edit Form (Full site) set to Form 2 instead of blank. When changed to blank it went back to default form). I want to be able to have it open Form 2 in edit mode at one point in the process, open Form 3 in edit mode at another point the in the process, etc. ------------------------------ Nolan Pilozo ------------------------------ Built in step through capabilities Hi, I am creating a progress tracker where I want the form to be filled out as the project progresses. This would include several different pages that need to be completed one-by-one throughout the project as it progresses, and the pages would require some fields to be populated (or checkboxes be checked) before moving onto the next step. So far I've seen that projects can't be saved while there are missing required fields, and I can't save the form at a step and come back later, I currently have to go all the way through the form to reach the save button, which doesn't feel like a project progress tracker (I would like the step bubbles at the top to remain empty until that page is filled out). Does anyone have any solutions? Or are there built in settings that I am missing? Thanks! ------------------------------ Nolan Pilozo ------------------------------
